Prices rise 10% each year. A price you have paid stays fixed for the period you paid for; the increase applies from your next purchase or renewal, and we tell you before it does. We announce each increase on this page before it takes effect.
Annual limits
Each offer has a real annual limit: 3,000 textbooks, 300 assessments, 300 advisory clients and 300 enterprise licenses a year. The limits reflect what we can deliver well; we do not run countdowns.
Once a limit is reached for the year, we take orders and applications for the following year.
How the prices compare
- A single published standard costs far less: ISO 50001 is CHF 179 (ISO store, checked 3 November 2026). The textbook explains a whole method with worked ledgers.
- An ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit of a commercial building is quoted at $0.10 to $0.35 per square foot (Envigilance audit cost guide, modified 2 February 2026). The Joule Ledger Assessment covers one system at declared meter points.
- Large-member dues at MLCommons, which runs the MLPerf benchmarks, are $90,000 a year plus an equal initiation fee (MLCommons, checked 3 November 2026). Comparable, but a membership, not a license to use a method.
Renewal rules
- Textbook (PDF) and assessment: one payment each.
- Advisory: Billed monthly under a written agreement. It continues each month until you cancel; the agreement states the notice period, and we tell you before any price change.
- Enterprise license: Renews yearly under a written agreement. We send a written reminder before each renewal deadline, by the method the agreement names, and you can choose not to renew.

Are taxes included?
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that apply where you are.
Why do prices rise each year?
The increase funds the method's maintenance and research. It is published in advance so you can plan.
